Finding newborn photographer

How to Select a Photographer that’s Right for YOU

Your road map to amazing newborn/family photography

You want breathtaking photos of your brand new baby or your curious, getting too big  too fast toddler.

It’s one of the few things you will have to look back on and remember that special time that vanishes oh so quickly.

When I started doing newborn photography 14 years ago, there was no one else around doing it.  Now days there are SO many newborn photographers to choose from.  It is overwhelming.

So who should you work with?  Follow the steps below to help you decide if I am the newborn (or family) photographer for you and what to expect during the process.

Step 1:  Do you like my work?

Take some time to browse through my galleries and spend some time exploring my site.

Click on the “Portfolio” tab in the menu to browse my galleries.

My style is emotional and timeless. Classic never goes out of style. I am a believer of quality over quantity. Focus is put on your babies and the connection between families.

Sessions are relaxed and not stiff posed.  I want you to remember that feeling as you inhale the sweet smell of your newborn or the joy you felt chasing your toddler.  They are real.  There is no stress or pressure trying to get perfectly posed photos.  Just lots of real memories and lots of fun making them.

For my newborn sessions, I spend a great deal of time paying attention to detail.  Perfectly placed fingers and perfectly positioned lighting to showcase those perfect new features.

If you like what you see and you think my style is a good match for you, continue to step 2.

If not, that’s okay.  I encourage you to keep searching for a photographer whose style is more to your liking.  For newborn portraits this is critical as you only have a short window with little time for redoing.

Step 2:  Tell me what type of session you are interested in.

I’m so glad you like my work!  Now I need to hear from you.  Hop over to my Contact Form and send me a message.  For newborn sessions it is best to schedule about 2 months in advance of your due date as my calendar fills up.  I will let you know as quick as I can if I have availability.

Step 3:  Review my session packages.

Take a moment to review my different session packages to decided which on one is best for you.  Also, be sure to view my specialty products.  I offer photoblocks which are handmade in the Netherlands and only a select number of photographers in the WORLD offer these…..and they are amazing.

Step 4:  Decide you want to work with me!

I’m a fun gal and I promise you won’t regret it. I will go the extra mile to make sure your photos are amazing.

Step 5:  Send in the retainer fee.

I don’t hold dates on my calendar until I have a retainer fee ($150 + tax), so take care of this right away so that you don’t lose your date to another family.  Once I have that you are officially booked!

Now wasn’t that easy?

If you still have questions, drop me a message using my contact form and I will be glad to help in any way I can.  I love my clients and limit the number that I take each month in order to be able to serve you really well and not get too swamped.

What your friends will say!
